Decrease Unhealthy Behaviors
Stress
Research has found that stress fuels absenteeism, hampers on-the-job productivity, and contributes to costly employee turnover while being a significant driver of health care costs. Decreasing stress will also cause an increase in employee morale and job satisfaction which ultimately improves the quality of work that your employees provide. Source: Karen Pallaritio reporting in Workforce Management, August 2008.
Cardiovascular Disease
Employees with heart disease or risk factors related to heart disease cost employers thousands of dollars when compared to more healthy employees (Source: Doetzel, Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine 1998). Cardiovascular disease risk factors are easily identifiable with Salus’ complete Biometric Screening which uses the Framingham Risk Assessment equation which identifies one’s ten year risk of having cardiovascular complications.

The relationship between diet and exercise and decreased risk of Heart Disease is heavily documented through numerous research studies. At Salus, our degreed and experienced Personal Wellness Coaches have the knowledge to provide your company with a custom, well-rounded, interactive, and safe exercise plan that will produce results for your employees.
Smoking
he dangers of smoking are well known, but did you know that each smoker costs an employer approximately $3,856 more per year in health-care costs and lost productivity than a non-smoker? (Source: Billings Gazetter December 10, 2005)

Implementing a smoking-cessation program is key to lowering your health care costs. At Salus, we can provide you with various techniques and resources for promoting smoking cessation. If even 1 employee quits, your company wins.
