Come out to celebrate fitness and employee wellness at the Salus Corporate Challenge Run & Walk Series. Races will be held in the spring and fall of 2010, providing two chances for you and your coworkers to participate in a fun and rewarding event.

The Salus Corporate Challenge is not your normal running event. It is designed specifically to help companies foster healthy life choices and a commitment to wellness all while participating in a fun and exciting competition. You CANNOT enter as an individual, but rather must enter as a company. The event is held on a weeknight immediately after work to better promote camaraderie and participation. All fitness levels and abilities are welcomed with both the run and walk options. You need a minimum of 4 co-workers to participate, but there is no limit on your entries!

Awards will be given to the fastest teams from mixed, female, and male categories. The most coveted award of the competition will be given to the corporation that has the largest employee population percentage who complete the corporate challenge, either walking or running. This award is a large traveling trophy that the winning corporation is able to display for one full year from the event. The winning company will have their name etched into the trophy along with the percentage of employees who completed the event. Try to get as many of your employees or coworkers out to complete the distance and show off your corporate colors!

The proceeds from each event benefit the Racers Against Childhood Cancer. RACC is a new charitable organization — founded on September 9th, 2007 by Cole Braun and Jon McGlocklin — that is committed to raising money to defeat childhood cancer.

* August 12, 2010 Salus Wisconsin Corporate Championship (Milwaukee, WI)

1. Get a minimum of 4 current employees to commit to running 5km or walking 3km. Everyone has to work at least 20 hours a week at this place of business. Salus operates on the honor system with regards to employee authentication. We trust that all entries made by your company are legitimate!

2. Designate a Team Captain. The Team Captain will be responsible for sending in the registration and will receive informative e-mails about the event that they will forward to team members.

3. Submit your entry form along with a check for $25 per runner made out to SALUS by March 26 (Challenge) or July 30 (Championship). $1 will be donated to RACC for each kilometer run or walked per participant.

4. You can add runners from your company at any time, even on race day! Keep in mind the goal of this event is to celebrate wellness with your co-workers so try to get as many people to participate as possible!

1. Highest percentage of employees participating. This award will be given to the company that has the largest percentage of employees complete the event run and walk combined.

2. Most money raised for RACC. In addition to a portion of every entry being donated to the RACC, each individual has the option to raise additional funding that will go directly to the RACC. RACC was founded on September 09, 2007 with the following mission: Use the passion and competitive spirit of racers to raise money for research and the fight to defeat childhood cancer. RACC is a 501c(3) charitable organization.

3. Fastest finishing time for top 4 runners from each team in 3 divisions: Mixed (at least 2 females), Female, or Male. The 4 fastest times will be combined to determine a cumulative time and awards will be given to the fastest Mixed, Female, and Male teams.

4. Top male and female finishers award for their performance.

* Refreshments and goodies will be provided post race as part of our celebration of employee health and wellness. At the Championship event local health and wellness companies will be on hand to offer free samples and complementary services. Check back to our site regularly for updates on sponsors and amenities.

* Each participating company at the CHAMPIONSHIP event will have the opportunity to have their company logo and participants displayed on a banner along the finish line. It will be the responsibility of the designated team captain to get all necessary information to Salus in order for the company banner to be ready on race day. Each company will be able to take their banner home at the completion of the event.
