Salus’ Wellness Professionals
Briana Boehmer, B.S., NASM-CPT
Director of Wellness and Fitness Services
Briana has a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is a nationally certified personal trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Upon graduation she spent two additional years researching energy metabolism and obesity in UW-Madison's Department of Nutritional Sciences. She has been working in the health and wellness field for the past 8 years and has been coaching for the past 10 years. Briana was a Division I runner for both the University of Colorado-Boulder and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. When she reached her sophomore year, she was ranked in the top 10 collegiately and top 40 nationally on the track. After college Briana began participating in triathlons and duathlons and in 2006 became the Professional Duathlon National Champion.

Briana is a passionate enthusiast for health, and feels the opportunity to build Salus could not come at a better time. With the world in a "health crisis", she loves the challenge to collaborate on ways to promote change. Briana and her husband Michael built Salus on the fundamental principles they learned not just through their education, but also through their experience as athletes. Knowing that accountability and feedback are fundamental to an athlete's success, they bring this crucial component to their interactive coaching based methodology. In addition, Briana believes in the individuality of counseling clients on wellness. No two people are alike and hence each will need to find their own path to wellness. Wellness is more than just exercise and nutrition; it is mental health, financial stability, family and personal history.
Michael Boehmer, M.S.
Director of Wellness and Fitness Services
Michael received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Michael was a Teaching Assistant and Research Associate while completing his Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology also at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has worked in the health and wellness field for the past 13 years, including writing exercise-training plans, exercise coaching, and directing wellness services.

Michael is a USA Triathlon Elite/Pro Triathlete and Duathlete. In 2002 he was the overall Amateur World Champion and US Collegiate National Champion. In recognition of his accomplishments Triathlete Magazine named him the athlete of the year. Michael is a four-time Ironman finisher including the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii. Michael wants to be a lifelong athlete, completing a variety of competitions and non-competitive events world-wide.

Michael believes Wellness is an all-encompassing state of existence. He has found that each person needs a custom approach to become well, and each individual will require specific help in each area of wellness throughout their program. "Our goal is for each client to reach a state of satisfaction and happiness with the lives they lead."

Bill Blavat
Business Development
Bill graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, emphasizing in Advertising and Marketing. A former two-time State Champion in football at Hartland Arrowhead, Bill was recognized with first team All-State and honorable mention All-USA awards. During college Bill changed his focus towards obtaining his college degree and was President of the Advertising Developmental Society. His career has been focused on helping others (not selling others) while providing creative solutions for his clients. Bill is passionate about making a difference in the business world and is excited about communicating the benefits of corporate wellness to his clients.

Bill brings a competitive athletic background to the workplace and believes in the importance of healthy living. Being well-networked throughout the community, Bill makes every effort to assist others in doing things better in whatever they do. As Bill develops business partnerships through Salus, he wants his clients to understand the many benefits associated with a Salus corporate wellness program.

In his leisure, Bill loves spending time with his wife and daughter. Bill and his wife lead TNT, a 20’s and 30’s Christian group that meets for social events and Bible studies. He is also an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys hunting, fishing and camping. In the winter months, snowmobiling and ice fishing are at the top of his list while golf and softball are his two favorite summer activities. A perfect day for Bill would be spent around a grill with family and friends.
